Environmental and Health Crises: Are They Linked?

Join the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) Environmental Health Program in a 5 part webinar series to address real-world environmental health issues in Indian Country during our 2023 Environmental Health Webinar Series. The monthly webinars focus on sharing environmental health resources and tools to strengthen Tribes and Tribal organizations’ capacity to adopt/adapt or implement guidance and best practices for preventing and controlling environmental threats.
Dr. Tommy Rock will join us on April 26 to discuss uranium exposure and air quality around oil and gas fields in the Navajo Nation.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the signs and symptoms of uranium toxicity
- Discuss the health effects of elevated levels of exposure to uranium and if uranium in drinking water causes cancer.
- Explain what preventative measures households and businesses can take to remove uranium from their well water.
