Supreme Court Affirms Crow Tribe of Indians’ Off-Reservation Treaty Hunting Rights

On May 20, 2019, the Supreme Court of the United States issued an opinion in Herrera v. Wyoming, a tribal treaty rights case. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 to affirm the Crow Tribe of Indians’ treaty right to hunt on unoccupied lands within the United States survives Wyoming’s establishment as a state.
