Positive Indian Parenting and Child Protective Teams in Indian Country
We are thrilled to announce our newest training opportunities! Join us in Twin Cities on June 6–8, 2023, where we will be offering two trainings: Positive Indian Parenting and Child Protective Teams in Indian Country.
Our Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) training prepares tribal and non-tribal child welfare personnel to train American Indian and Alaska Native parents using a culturally specific approach. The materials presented during the training draw on the strengths of historic Indian child-rearing practices and blend traditional values with contemporary skills. The cost of the training is $595.00. Register and pay by May 5, 2023, for the discounted early-bird rate of $495.00.
For centuries Native communities have known the value of interdependence and working together to provide child protection to our most vulnerable citizens. The Child Protective Teams in Indian Country three-day training provides participants with information about how effective collaboration builds greater support systems for children and families who are at risk for, or currently involved in, the child welfare system. Participants will learn about the history of child protection and about strategies to develop policies and procedures for a child protection team in their own community. The cost of the training is $595.00. Register and pay by May 5, 2023, for the discounted early-bird rate of $495.00.
The trainings will fill up quickly, so we encourage you to register early to take advantage of these professional development opportunities! Our host hotel is the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront. Reserve your room here by May 9, 2023, for the group rate!
